The Virgin Ghostess
By Ogunsola Ayobami Samuel
After reuniting outside Julia’s father restaurant, julius and kate sat on the swings at the park, and he asks why she named her blog You Are My Sunshine. She’s surprised that he even knows about it at all, and instead of admitting that he’s a fan, he just acts like it’s obvious that he knows everything about her.
He wants to know who Alex is and why he took a hit from the guy, though he says he doesn’t mind so much since it was a weak hit and he found out where she was staying. Kate explains that Alex is Julia’s kid brother, and that he must’ve been drawn to her when she was possessed.
Julia scoffs that she’s made fools of a lot of guys, and wonders aloud which one he himself was drawn to Kate or the ghost? Well, that’s the question, isn’t it? He asks about some of the moments they’ve shared, and she admits forlornly that they were all with the ghost, except for the bike-thief-catching.
She confirms that the sex-crazed version of her was the ghost too, and he sighs that he feels like he did something wrong without knowing it, like he somehow cheated on her with a ghost. He admits that her sudden change in personality did draw him in, and that he was always so harsh on her in the past because he identified with her passive nature so much.
He acknowledges that he fell for the ghost and her epic , and kate says quietly that the ghostgenuinely liked him too. She’s startled when a different ghost passes by in front of them, and when she tells julius what she saw, he crouches near her, complaining that she felt the need to share.
He’s so scared that he jumps when she puts a hand on his shoulder, but he quickly grabs onto it and declares, “I’m never letting go of this hand from now on! And I’m not saying that because I’m scared.”
Julia collects her thoughts and heads to Dad’s place to talk to kate, and hides when she sees her arriving hand-in-hand with julius , looking like a happy couple. Kate doesn’t want to go back to the restaurant , so he agrees to look into somewhere else for her to go, and reluctantly sends her in.
Julius has been waiting inside and chides Kate for going outside when she warned her to be careful. She shares her recent discovery that Officer john is somehow involved in Lisa’s hit-and-run case, and that she’s possessing a police officer to get more info. Julia : “But you’re still my favorite body, so don’t be jealous!”
They agreed not to tell julius until they know for sure if it’s true, both worried about how it’ll affect him and his sister. Kate asks if she’s okay, and Julia waves off her concern, insisting that she has more important things to worry about, like her death, to be mooning over julius.
John mulls over what he knows so far about Julia and Kate , and wonders where Julia has hidden herself now. He glances over at his locked drawer, and gack—he notices that the lock has been fiddled with. He opens it up and finds the diary still inside.
John comes home and looks up the Sunshine blog again, wondering if maybe it’s named Sunshine because of him. He calls Kate acting like he’s just checking to make sure she turned her phone on like he ordered, but ends up lingering on the line long after she’s fallen asleep.
The following day the assistant chefs want to hire a new chef to handle the workload, and julius agrees to let them interview and hire someone new. Felix is the only one to speak up against the idea in case kate comes back, but the others say that they could just have two assistants then.
The assistant chefs hold job interviews for a new applicants , it’s such a rampantly sexist set of interviews, they hire a hot girl purely for her looks, much to felix’s dismay, and then of course it goes fantastically awry once they put her to work.
She can’t touch snails because they’re gross, she actually thinks it’s okay to call julius dear , and talks on the phone during her shift. Julius explodes and tells her to get the hell out of his kitchen before he starts swearing at her, and tells Mike he’ll no longer be interviewing anyone.
He immediately calls kate and begs her to reconsider taking her job back. He takes a second call from John’s partner Officer Steve , who asks him to meet over an urgent matter concerning his sister’s accident. He asks julius not to say anything to john about this, which alarms him.
They agree to meet, and Officer Steve heads over straight from the crime lab, where he’s just been given proof that John was the one who attacked him in the parking lot. He sniffles back tears as he drives, and John radios him to ask where he’s gone.
When he’s stopped at a light, suddenly his passenger door opens and John hops in, dressed in his all-black killing uniform. He picks up the envelope in the seat and gives the creeeepiest smile ever. He kills his partner officer Steve and fakes his death to be an accident.
After getting word of what happened, Julius runs to Officer Steve funeral in shock and disbelief. John is there, of course, taking care of his partner’s loved ones.
Julius was about to tell him that they were going to meet today, but remembers at the last second that Officer steve warned him not to say anything to John . He keeps his mouth shut. After seeing him whistling to himself in the restroom.
After learning of Officer Steve ’s untimely demise, Julia and kate decide that it is time to speak with julius. The women share their suspicions about John involvement in Officer Steve’s death, Lisa hit-and-run, and Julia death. They ask julius to help find Julia diary. Julius is in shock that the man who has made his sister so happy is so evil. Alone with julius , Kate tries to comfort him with the exercise of inner peace and a hug.
Julius stops by his mother’s home while John is out, and begins the search for Julia diary. He manages to find John secret stash and the diary inside it just before his brother-in-law returns unexpectedly.
Kate thanks Julia father, for allowing her to stay. He admits to enjoying having her around, because she reminds him of his daughter. Kate carefully asks why Julia would have committed suicide, and he can only express regret at not answering Julia final phone call. He continues to retain her final voicemail, which only contains inexplicable sounds.
Julius meets up with Julia and Kate at the apartment of Mrs jane, where Julia possesses the Mrs Jane body to allow for ease of communication. They review Julia diary where they find a four digit number, and listen to her final voicemail. They make out seven digits, and kate guesses that the numbers could be a license plate. Then Julia said she would have to go and possess the female police officer to get more clue.
Julia possesses the female cop and is able to use the police database to confirm that the numbers match the license plate belonging to John . She is overheard talking about John with Kate by the creepy cop himself, who demands to know the reason for her interest in him. As he grabs her by the throat, his phone rings and the ringtone prompts a flood of memories for Julia . She witnessed john hit-and-run of Lisa , before he killed her. As the officer passes out, Julia exits her body, and comes face-to-face withJohn.
